Our Shared Sacrifice has developed a curriculum-aligned, scalable model for integrating original archival research into formal classroom and cadet instruction. The model has been delivered in three Grade 10 Canadian History pilots and one Royal Canadian Army Cadets training period. The lesson package is designed for delivery by classroom teachers or senior cadets without modification. It has been taught successfully without the project’s founders present in the room.
Peel District School Board - Independent Classroom Delivery
Stephen Lewis Secondary School, Mississauga · 27 February 2026 · Grade 10 CHC2D · 25 students
The module was delivered by Mr. Kashif Sayed, a Peel DSB Canadian and World Studies teacher with over ten years of CHC2D teaching experience. Daniyal and Harris Elahi were not present. Mr. Sayed taught the lesson independently using the materials without modification.

337 Queen’s York Rangers - Cadet Corps Adoption
337 Queen’s York Rangers RCACC, Toronto · 28 April 2026 · 75 cadets aged 12–18 · Performance Objectives 303 (Leadership) and 403 (Act as a Team Leader)
Daniyal and Harris Elahi delivered the lesson “Leadership Under Fire: From Ypres to Hill 70” at corps headquarters. The lesson examines seven leadership exemplars from First World War Canadian and Commonwealth service, including Pte. Hasan Amat and Sgt. Frederick Hobson VC — awarded the Victoria Cross for action at Hill 70, the temporal anchor of this lesson.
Of the 68 exit tickets returned by the 75 cadets present (91% response rate), 67 cadets reported learning something new; 53 recommended the lesson, 15 said maybe, and none said no. Of seven leadership figures presented, cadets selected Pte. Hasan Amat ahead of Sgt. Frederick Hobson VC as the most significant.
Following the delivery, the Corps Training Officer (Capt. Danielle Ferris) committed in writing on 29 April 2026 to pursuing annual integration of the lesson into the 337 Queen's York Rangers training curriculum. On 7 May 2026, the Commanding Officer, Capt. James Kelly CD, confirmed in writing that 'Leadership Under Fire' will be placed in the 2026–2027 337 Queen's York Rangers Training Calendar. The lesson is supported by a complete Handover and Delivery Guide designed for indefinite reuse by any senior cadet.
Crescent School - Initial Engagement

Daniyal and Harris Elahi, both Crescent School students, delivered an initial seminar to a Grade 10 Canadian History class on the recovery of overlooked First World War service in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. The session was presided over by Mr. Singer and verified by Mr. Ari Hunter, Head of Upper School (verification letter on file, December 10, 2025). The success of this initial engagement led the school's Grade 10 Canadian History department to invite the founders back for the April 2026 follow-up seminar described below.
Crescent School - Curriculum Integration
Crescent School, Toronto · 17 April 2026 · Grade 10 CHC2D
100% of students reported learning something new. 94% had never previously heard of the Battle of Hill 70. 100% recommended the lesson for future classes. (17 exit tickets returned.)
Following the December 2025 initial engagement, Crescent School's Grade 10 Canadian History department invited the founders to deliver a structured seminar to a Grade 10 Canadian History class. The school's Director of Summer Academic Programs subsequently requested continuation of the program for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The Hill 70 Memorial - Institutional Adoption
The Hill 70 Memorial has approved a commemorative bench and plaque honouring Private Hasan Amat at the Hill 70 Memorial in Loos-en-Gohelle, France. Daniyal and Harris Elahi raised $20,000 of the $25,000 cost through private donations, and a member of The Hill 70 Memorial contributed the final $5,000. The Hill 70 Memorial has also commissioned Our Shared Sacrifice to produce a multi-video series on Hill 70 history — including documentary briefs on the Battle of Hill 70, Sgt. Frederick Hobson VC, and Creeping Barrage at Hill 70, all now live — and has authorized use of the Memorial’s logo on these commissioned productions following Memorial board review.
Ontario Ministry of Education - Under Review
A Grade 10 CHC2D curriculum supplement and a Remembrance Day learning module were submitted to the Ontario Ministry of Education for review in March 2026.
Right to Play Community Centre — International Reach

Daniyal and Harris Elahi delivered a seminar on Private Hasan Amat and Commonwealth service in the First World War. The visit was covered by six Pakistani national television networks: Express News, Public News, HUM News, Samaa, AJK News, and Abb Takk.
